James
Kenneth Johnson is called to serve a mission in the Georgia Atlanta Mission.
It
being Stake Conference, we didn’t travel to Christmas Valley last weekend. Lane went to Salt Lake City, for a BIG
EVENT. His second-eldest grandson was endowed in the Jordan River Temple Saturday, March 10th, and gave his farewell speech on Sunday the 11th. He’s the first grandchild to go on a
mission. James (aka “Kenny”) is a
wonderful young man--and that’s praise indeed; those of you who know Cheryl will
know that she doesn’t lightly or unthinkingly give undeserved praise to young
people: they have to earn it. He has.
Kenny
is a hard worker, is quiet and reserved, and very observant and
intelligent. He has worked hard and has
earned all the money for his mission. Good work, Kenny (it’s hard to think of him
as “James”--a recent innovation to call him by his first name . . . much as it
would be to suddenly begin calling Lane “Hoyt”, his first name).
James Kenneth and parents, Scerinda and Ken.
This is a landmark occasion in the family. We
are proud of James and his decision to serve a mission, and
believe he’ll do very well. Our prayers
will be with you, James Kenneth.
